Magic Office

The company behind your business, organised.

One entity record for the agreements, people, structure and ownership that the business is actually built on. The current agreement is the current agreement, and the next obligation has a date and an owner.

Starter A$29/company/month. Professional A$99/company/month. Investor & Board +A$99/month with Professional. Ex GST. Ex GST.

Link a representative folder first. Record-keeping is not payroll execution, and Magic says which is which.

One entity record

  1. The entity

The company as a record: its agreements, people and ownership in one place.

    Magic Office

  2. Agreements

Current terms with effective dates, so the latest version is unambiguous.

    Magic Office

  3. People and ownership

Who is accountable for what, and who can see which part.

    Roles and permissions

A company entity record with agreements, people and ownership panels.

One entity record

Agreements, people and ownership in one maintained place.

The current version wins

Effective dates make the latest terms unambiguous.

Publishing is deliberate

Nothing reaches a board or investor view by default.

The problem

The company's own records are the ones nobody can find

A business keeps its customer records in a CRM and its financial records in an accounting system, and often keeps its own agreements, people and ownership in a folder structure that only one person understands. The question that matters — what did we agree, when does it renew, and who owns it — takes an afternoon to answer.

Magic Office holds one entity record for the company itself: the current agreement and its next obligation, the people and their records, the ownership basis with its date, and the reporting built from approved records. Other products read it under permissions rather than keeping their own copy.

Record-keeping is not payroll execution

Magic Office keeps the employment record. It does not run payroll, pay superannuation or lodge with a revenue office. That boundary is stated everywhere an employment record appears.

The entity

One record for the company

The legal entity, its identifiers, its registered details and the people who act for it, held once rather than across six folders.

02
Agreements

The current agreement, not a pile of drafts

Each agreement has a state: draft, current or superseded. The record says which is current and what replaced what.

03
People

People and their roles

Directors, officers and employees with the role they hold and the record that evidences it, kept separately from any payroll system.

04
Ownership

Ownership with a stated basis and date

The ownership panel states whether it is reading issued shares, options or a convertible instrument, and the date it was last reconciled.

The question 'what did we agree and who owns it' is answered from one record, with the basis of each answer shown.

Agreements

Find the current agreement and the next obligation

An agreement register is only useful if it says which agreement is current, when it takes effect and who is responsible for the next step.

Current signed agreement

One agreement is marked current, with the superseded versions kept and labelled rather than deleted.

Effective date

When the current agreement started, and when any renewal or review falls due.

Owner

The person accountable for the agreement, so an obligation has a name against it.

Review date

The next date the agreement is looked at, with the reason it is being reviewed.

People

Employment records, clearly separated from payroll

Magic keeps the record that a role exists and the evidence behind it. It does not execute payroll or make a payment.

What Magic holds

The person, their role, their start and end dates and the documents that evidence the arrangement, on the entity record.

What Magic does not do

It does not run payroll, calculate pay or superannuation, or lodge returns. Those stay in your payroll system.

The boundary in the product

Every employment panel states that it is a record, with a link to where payroll execution happens, so a record is never mistaken for a payment.

The signed agreement in operational context

An agreement matters when it changes what a team does. Magic keeps the reference beside the work it affects.

Signed agreement

The current signed agreement, with its effective date, its owner and the review date it carries.

Effect

Operational effect

Renewal notice and owner set

The next obligation becomes a task with a date and an owner, so the renewal is a scheduled decision rather than a surprise.

01
Internal publish

A board pack is published from approved records

The pack is assembled from records that already carry an approval state, so a figure in the pack can be traced to the record it came from.

02
Permission scope

Each recipient gets a permission-scoped view

An investor or board member sees only the material published to them, labelled with the role they are acting in.

03
Guest view

The guest view shows what was published

The guest sees the published pack and their own holdings, not the internal workspace. A permission denial never reveals the record.

The board pack is published once from approved records, and each recipient sees only their permitted view.

Team process

Approval-driven agreements

An agreement that more than one person depends on needs an approval path. This is the Professional workflow.

Approval path

A stated sequence of approvers for an agreement, with the state visible at each step.

Reasons recorded

An approval or a return carries a reason, so the decision is explainable later.

History

Who changed what and when, held against the agreement rather than in an email thread.

Reporting

Reporting from approved records

Stakeholder reporting is built from records that have been approved, not from the latest draft nobody has signed off. Professional adds it.

Approved source

A report names the approved records it draws from, so a reader can check the basis of a figure.

Stated as at

Every report carries the date its records were reconciled, so a stale report is visibly stale.

Stakeholder views

Investor, board and internal views are permission-scoped, each labelled with the role it is prepared for.

When Magic Office is the right choice — and when it is not

This is a fit guide against equity-management, data-room and document-storage specialists. A company that needs a specialist should be able to tell quickly.

Who should not switch

Do not choose Magic Office if you need a dedicated equity-management platform with employee share-plan taxation and statutory lodgement, a transactional data room with a formal bid process, or a document-management system with deep retention and e-discovery rules. Magic Office is for a company that wants its own agreements, people and ownership in one record that the rest of the business can read under permissions.

Migrate one representative folder first

Do not move every folder. Link one folder that represents the hardest case, review the exceptions, and decide with evidence.

Transfers

The records that make the entity record useful from day one.

  • The current agreements and their dates
  • Directors, officers and employees with their roles
  • Ownership documents you choose to bring across
Needs review

Anything where several copies disagree.

  • Agreements with more than one candidate for 'current'
  • People records with no evidence document
  • Ownership documents dated differently from the register
Stays in your old system

Documents that must remain in a system of record with legal effect.

  • Executed originals in your document store of record
  • Payroll records in your payroll system
  • Statutory filings held by the relevant authority

Nothing is deleted from your current system by connecting Magic. A transfer is only marked complete when it has been verified, and anything uncertain is listed for review.

Office pricing

Office is priced per company. Professional adds approval-driven agreements and stakeholder reporting. Investor & Board is a dependent expansion that requires Professional.
